Great place to kayak near Georgetown. Public parking across the bridge Going downstream, under the bridge you can observe the Georgetown waterfront and great views of DC.
Another excellent way is to kayak around the Roosevelt Island. It is just across from the kayak rental.
Tip: kayaking a close to the bank is a bit easier. Kayak close to right bank upstream.
Season pass can work if you have a family that plans to kayak a lot. Season pass allows you to pickup kayak from any location.
I have rented paddle craft from Boating In DC ~ a dozen times. I have always found them to be a professional, safety oriented outfitter. Expensive, but a first-class outfitter.
Great place to rent kayaks or canoes per hour. It’s a nice ride along Georgetown waterfront and Rosevelt island. Family and fiends who visit DC always enjoy this treat weather permitting. They have reasonable prices, lockers and bathrooms. No need to bring your own lock. They also rent bikes.
The spot was very close to my hotel in foggy bottom.It's very easy to find. There are lots of water sports options. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It is a veryaffordable fun place to visit. You can easily boat into the city or go up River to the Georgetown area. The views are best at sunset and sunrise.

Great stop for kayak lovers! Some fantastic views of Washington monuments near Georgetown. Find some food at the nearby pier afterwards - you won't be disappointed!
This is the best place to rent a SUP or kayak for an easy paddle to the Lincoln memorial. The SUPs were a little old and not in perfect condition, but they worked! Staff definitely did their jobs, but if we hadn’t paddleboarded before we would have been a little lost as they didn’t really give an tips on technique. The boundaries from this boathouse are smaller than those at key bridge, but it’s closer to the monuments and Roosevelt island, so if you’re looking for an easier paddle this is the place to go. Parking is also convenient because there’s a whole parking lot (although it’s not free).
Watching Fourth of July fireworks from a stand up paddle board on the Potomac River is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this! Sign up fast - the spots fill up quickly! It was $100 per person. For context, a 2-hour rental is about $50 per person on a regular day.
